Who We Are

Jacksonville Postal & Professional Credit Union

Jacksonville Postal & Professional Credit union was formed in 1929 by a small group of twelve postal employees. Our credit union has a long and distinguished history, steeped in the philosophy that credit unions are founded on. The credit union was originally chartered, on October 15, 1929 and was the first state chartered credit union in the state of Florida.

The twelve employees who formed the credit union signed a Certificate of Organization, and each of them subscribed to one share in the Credit Union (a total of $60). The first shareholders were Howard DeVaugh, George Pope, William Klein, Charles Stoddard, Francis Wright, William Woods, Earle Gibbs, W. W. Coleman, J. H. Knowles, Louis Damato, Williams Stratz and Albert E. Murray.  By 1948 our assets were $69,138.83.  In 2010, our assets are over $42,000,000 with over 5000 members.  JPPCU postal employees and their families remain the core membership of the credit union, but we also serve the employees of professional companies and organizations.

JPPCU has a rich history of serving our membership. Our goal is to deliver the highest quality standard of products and member services designed to satisfy the overall financial needs of our membership. We also provide our members a safe and efficient credit union protecting our members' assets while demonstrating the positive leadership and direction for future growth and financial stability. This is our pledge to our membership in honor of the brave founders of this credit union. We place the needs of our members first, as the original founders did in 1929.
